Sonic on XBLA

No one sent me the memo, but the Sonic games from Sega Genesis are now available on Xbox Live Arcade. Since Sonic 2 is possibly the greatest game ever, this is really bloody awesome.

Better Sidekick

In the style of SportsNation's pop culture game I will start ending these posts with a question about two divergent things in gaming. For this week:

Better Sidekick : Tails or Sheva Alomar



Sheva partners up with follow member of the BSAA member, Chris Redfield, in Resident Evil 5 to handle a B.O.W. outbreak. Considering she is AI controlled, she is surprisingly competent. She can be annoying particularly on Professional difficulty, but if you figure out how to properly use her she can be a big help.

Miles "Tails" Prower sticks with Sonic through out their adventures in Sonic 2, which apparently is to fight a balding, red-head super villain who has trapped all the animals(?,) in levels such as Oil Ocean, so apparently he's an executive at BP. When "Tails" is your side kick he is immortal, which is a huge plus. This red fox with two tails also flew a plane with an open cockpit into outer-space to save Sonic after he had defeated the villain.

My choice: Tails, because I have an unreasonable dislike of Sheva since playing through RE5 on professional difficultly. She was insistent on using her pistol at inappropriate times and failed to revive me numerous times in the brief window professional difficulty allows. Plus Tails is just awesome by osmosis, because Sonic the Hedgehog is the most awesome creature ever.
