Madden 11 Impressions

This years Madden takes another step forward in terms of gameplay, but still lacks the refinement that I've wished for. The new locomotion engine, like the one in NCAA Football 11, adds weight to the players and creates a new element of realism in the game. Unfortunately, there are still issues with the game. Ridiculous amounts of fumbles and drops make the game annoying to play quite often. The CPU is able to break nearly every tackle on higher difficulties and that gets really frustrating quickly.

The Franchise Mode has not been changed at all. That is just awful. Franchise Mode has been poor since the switch the Next Gen Consoles and it needed to be improved dramatically. I could stand the unrefined gameplay if the Franchise Mode would actually feel like more than just playing 16 games and the playoffs, because that's all Franchise Mode is and it needs to be so much more.

For the first time in a long time, NCAA Football is decisively a better game than Madden this year. Madden needs to stop doing complete revamps every year and work on tweaking the current model to make a better game.

No question this week. Thanks for reading and please comment.
